How to use Add/Remove Image feature? •
Hextom: Bulk Image Edit enables you to add or remove images from your existing media library effortlessly.
To use the task function, simply click on the option in the dashboard or the sidebar.
- Choose Product Images as the type of images you want to edit.
After selecting the image type, apply a filter condition to match images based on the template.
You can preview the results to verify, or add additional conditions as needed.
- Choose the task you would like to perform from the options below:
Adding an Image
You'd like to add a Yellow Shirt image to your "Shirt" products, so that customers know you're selling Yellow-colored Shirts.
When choosing this task, you're required to upload an image, and choose the position of where this is placed.
For reference, in the Shopify Admin, this position refers to the order of the images within the Media section of the product page. You can arrange the images by setting their order to control how they appear to customers.
For now, we assign the new image in the 4th position, before starting the Edit task.
Once the task is completed, you'll see that the Yellow Shirt image has been successfully added to your "Shirt" products, and the image will appear in the specified position within the Media section.
Please note the following:
- Image formats supported are: JPG, PNG, GIF, or WEBP
- When adding to 5th position, if a selected product has 2 images, the uploaded image will be inserted as the last image.
Removing an Image
Once the Yellow Shirt variant is sold out, you can select the task to remove the image from the product. This will update the Media section accordingly.
Select the task. This task requires the specific position of the image that you would like to remove.
For reference, the image you’re looking to remove is the 4th image in the product’s Media section.
And so we set it to that.
Once it finishes, our Yellow Shirt Image is removed.
Removing Duplicated Images
In some cases, you may find multiple copies of the same image across different products, which can be observed when reviewing products in the Shopify Admin.
For example:
You can remove the duplicate images here, but you may not be sure if other products have them, and checking manually could take time.
Luckily, our app offers a task functionality that allows you to quickly remove duplicated images across products.
After choosing the task, click Start Bulk Editing.
The app will scan each product for images that are pixel-identical to others and automatically remove the duplicates.
Once the process is complete, you can confirm that the duplicates have been successfully removed.
That concludes our tutorial. We also have a video tutorial for reference:
