How to Bulk Download Images (BIE)

How to Bulk Download Images

Select a set of images to be packaged into a compact zip file which can be downloaded to your computer. This task does not affect the images on your store in any way.

Steps

  1. Select Download from the left menu bar or from your Dashboard.
  2. Select which type of images you want to download (Product, Theme Asset, Collection, Blog Post, or Setting Files).
  3. Set the dropdown filters to define exactly which images from your store you want to download.
  4. Once all the filters are set, click Start Bulk Download to save the selected images into a downloadable zip file.
  5. Click the hyperlink in the Editing column of the Tasks list when the job has finished running to download the zip file.
  6. To schedule a daily task to download the images that match the selected filters, click Start Bulk Download & Run Daily.

Why do the images in the zip file have different names than on my store?

When each image is added to the zip file, the file is renamed depending on the image type.

Note: The version of the image on your store will not be renamed. This task appends specific IDs to the beginning of the file name to help identify where it came from. The image files are renamed based on the template below. The file_name is the original file name of the image on your store.

Table 1: File Name Formats by Image Type

Image Type

File Name Format in Zip File

Product [product_id]-[image_position]-[file_name].[extension]
Theme Asset [theme_id]-[file_name].[extension]
Collection [collection_id]-[file_name].[extension]
Blog Post [article_id]-[file_name].[extension]
Setting Files [file_name].[extension]

FAQ

How many images can I download at once?

The number of images you can download at once depends on your current plan. You can download as many images as your Monthly Image Edits number in a single zip file. Note that this is your total monthly edits, not the remaining edits at any given time. Additionally, downloading images will not affect your remaining monthly credit at all.

If your selected filters match more images than your monthly credit, then the task will only add as many images as your total monthly credit, and you will still be able to download the zip file. For example, if your plan allows 1000 monthly image edits and your selected filters match 1500 images, then the task will add the first 1000 images to the zip file which can then be downloaded.
