How is the size of picture-based watermarks and sales stickers determined? (BIE)

Bulk Image Edit (BIE) determines the size of picture-based watermarks and sales stickers in a smart way. Based on the inputs supplied by the user, the size of the original image and the size of the watermark or sticker image, BIE adjusts the height and width of the sticker or watermark such that it satisfies the needs of the shop owners when processing the images.

During the creation of a task to add a picture-based watermark or a sales sticker, the user is prompt to provide desired size of the watermark/sticker as a percentage to the size of the original image. For sales stickers, the user is also requested to provided desired padding for the sticker as a percentage to the size of the original image. The padding of a sticker refers to the distance between the sticker and the closest edge(s) of the image.

Size and Padding Inputs for Sales Stickers

Wider or Squared Watermark/Sticker Image

A wider watermark/sticker image is a watermark/sticker image whose width is longer than its height. A squared watermark/sticker image, on the other hand, is a watermark/sticker image whose width and height are identical.

When the watermark/sticker is a wider or squared image, its size will be determined by the proportion relative to width of the original image. In specific, the width of the watermark/sticker will be the provided percentage of the width of the original image, and the height of the watermark/sticker will be determined such that the original width/height ratio of the watermark/sticker image is preserved.

For sales stickers, the padding of the sticker will be set as the provided percentage of the width of the original image.

Here is an example. Suppose that the original image is 600px tall and 1200px wide, and the sales sticker is originally 800px wide and 600px tall (which makes it a wider 4:3 image). If 25% size and 1% padding are requested by the user, the width of the sticker will be adjusted to 300px (25% of 1200px), and the height will be adjusted accordingly to 225px (to maintain the 4:3 ratio of the sticker image). The padding, on the other hand, will be determined as 12px (1% of 1200px).

Taller Watermark/Sticker Image

A taller watermark/sticker image is a watermark/sticker image whose height is longer than its width.

When the watermark/sticker is a taller image, its size will be determined by the proportion relative to height of the original image. In specific, the height of the watermark/sticker will be the provided percentage of the height of the original image, and the width of the watermark/sticker will be determined such that the original width/height ratio of the watermark/sticker image is preserved.

For sales stickers, the padding of the sticker will be set as the provided percentage of the height of the original image.

Here is an example. Suppose that the original image is 600px tall and 1200px wide, and the sales sticker is originally 200px wide and 600px tall (which makes it a taller 1:3 image). If 30% size and 5% padding are requested by the user, the height of the sticker will be adjusted to 180px (30% of 600px), and the width will be adjusted accordingly to 60px (to maintain the 1:3 ratio of the sticker image). The padding, on the other hand, will be determined as 30px (5% of 600px).
